This was the first meeting so there was no unfinished business.
1) Membership process
a. All officers can sign up new gun club members.
b. Officers will be given a “new member kit” that they should carry with them in their cars. Gayle will put the kit together. The kit will include:
i. Folder to hold the materials
ii. A couple pens
iii. Blank membership cards
iv. Current gate combination
v. Application form/waiver form (will be combined into one)
vi. Paper clips (to be used to clip the new member’s check or money to their application form.
vii. 8.5x11 manila folder to be used to keep new member sign ups in the kit. The manila folder with new registrations is to be brought to monthly club meetings and turned in to Membership Director, Dave Coleman.
viii. Club brochures
c. ALL new member registrations are to be turned in ONLY to Dave Coleman. NO registrations should be turned in EXCEPT at monthly club meetings so that a record can be made in the minutes of all new members.
d. Dave will log the new members in the membership list and then remit their funds to Treasurer.
e. Treasurer may NO LONGER accept renewals directly. ALL renewals and new members must be relayed to Dave to follow proper procedure.
f. Dues will increase from $35 per year to $45 per year effective immediately.
g. If anyone signs up from here on out, their dues will be $45 and are good through April 1, 2012 (twenty-twelve).
h. The application form on the existing flyers are obsolete and will no longer be used. We will use up the supply we have and then reprint without the membership form.
i. All new members must sign a range waiver form. BEFORE they are issued the new membership card and gate code.
j. All member renewals must sign the range waiver form BEFORE they are issued the new membership card and gate code.
k. Gayle will revise the application/waiver per the committee’s instructions.
l. New membership cards will be designed and printed on the “club’s green” that we used for the gun show. A list of the club’s contacts will be placed on the back of the membership card.
m. About March 1 we will do a mailing to all members on the member list letting them know that dues are due. We will give them four options to pay:
i. Pay online (assuming we can find an online company that will allow us to collect online. Paypal won’t allow anything gun-related.)
ii. Send their money and application in the mail.
iii. Come to a meeting
iv. See an officer
n. Our eventual goal is to have 100% of our club members be NRA members as well. This will allow us to apply for range improvement grants through the NRA. To accomplish this:
